Four Things We Can’t Seem To Get Rid Of (But We Know We Should)

When you have your own home and a growing family, there comes a time when you look around and wonder how you have managed to collect so much stuff. Let’s be honest, if you had to try and move house, you would have a real issue trying to put it all in a truck. However, this level of clutter is not good for your mental health. So, what are those items that we can’t seem to get rid of?

Baby Stuff

If you have kids, there is a good chance that you have some baby stuff stored away somewhere. This can be a good thing as there are a lot of good quality clothes that end up in a landfill. Even Baby Bibs can be used again by your grandbabies if they are in good condition. However, a line needs to be drawn. If you discover that the items you have stored are not the best or that the storage has not been kind to them, you should thing about investing in new items for your grandbabies when they arrive.

Old manuals

Everyone has a drawer in their house that has a collection of old manuals in it. And, while it is great that you have kept the manuals so that you can troubleshoot any issues with your household equipment, do you need to keep all of them? And by all of them, we mean the manuals for the things you don’t have anymore. If you don’t have a certain piece of equipment, there is a good chance you won’t need the manual. If you think that you might be dumping an important manual, you can pass them on to your local collectors club or library for others to use as a reference material.

Old hobbies

Do you have a hobby? A lot of people picked up new hobbies during the Pandemic. It was great. There was a revival of lost crafts and joy was found away from the screen. But what about those other hobbies? You know, the ones you though about taking up over a decade ago and had to ditch. At this point, you have a choice. You could either pick them up again and use the items that you invested in, or finally dump the stuff and free up some space in your home. Depending on the items, a lot of schools would be happy to take the supplies off your hands for their students.

Gift bags

This is a bit of a strange one but it is something a lot of us are guilty of, and it is reusing giftbags. We don’t know why this has become a thing but there is a lot of people who cannot seem to part with a giftbag. Maybe it is the thought of wasting something that is expensive (and giftbags are pricey) or maybe we don’t want to seen ungrateful and wnat to hang onto it for as long as possible. Whatever the reason, we all need to think about ditching the giftbag collection. Or, at the very least, pass them on to someone else.
