“YOU”RE MISSING IT!”
Synopsis
It’s a lively day at the neighbourhood park. Birds are signing, squirrels are frolicking, dogs are causing a commotion — and wide-eyed children are enthralled by it all. Too bad the parents are missing everything! It’s going to take something really BIG to get them to disengage from their phones…
#MelAndNikkiReview
You’re Missing It! is a modern tale with an important reminder for us all – put down the phones. In this story, parents are too busy on their phones that they are missing out all the action around them and their children. It literally takes a BIG purple distraction to get them away from their phones (don’t want to spoil what it is). 😉
It is a great reminder that we need to slow down and embrace what is around us and savor the time together. Perfect message for the modern times that we are living in. We loved the story, messaging and illustrations that bring the book to life. Nikki especially loved the book as it gave her the opportunity to remind mommy (me) that I need to put my phone down (guilty). Having her make the connection through the story was great and it has been a favorite to read in our home.
“See mommy! You have to put your phone down sometimes. There is so much to see.” – Nikki, Age 4
Therefore, for this #MelAndNikkiReview we give You’re Missing It! 5 beeps beeps out of 5! It is recommended for children between the ages of three to five.
