Every Dreaming Creature is a breathtaking children’s book that captivates our imaginations and hearts! The details described for each creature was creatively and realistic to each one. We loved feeling like we were this creature living in the world.
This book allowed us to feel empathy and to appreciate this amazing creatures. We also were able to imagine ourselves dreaming of what creature we would love to be in our own dreams. This was a great conversation to have during reading time. We love stories that allow further dialogue as it helps the child retell the story.
I would dream of being a lioness, protecting my cub and providing for my family. Nikki would be a Clydesdale Horse who would gallop along the valley with lightning fast reflexes. It was so fun to explore other creatures and what we would do if we were one. We could see similarities between our own characteristics too.

Brendan Wenzel is the New York Times bestselling author and illustrator of the Caldecott Honor Book They All Saw a Cat, as well as the acclaimed picture books A Stone Sat Still, Hello Hello, and Inside Cat.
