What Feelings Do When No One’s Looking is truly a masterpiece! A children’s story that inspires us to feel. Every single feeling is articulated beautifully with illustrations that reflect it perfectly. A must read for everyone! – Momma Braga
Curiosity, a lithe and floppy-eared creature, perches above the open world and gazes out with a zippy blend of hope, wonder, and longing. From the tip of a chimney, we bound into the quiet and mischievous world of feelings, meeting a troupe of tufted creatures. Sympathy helps snails cross a sidewalk to safety, fear pirouettes in an attempt to camouflage with wallflowers, and a please reclines on a doily-donned reading chair, sipping a cup of tea. Elsewhere, our insecurities – pesky, cavorting beings – build intricate cages and stride about with clatterings sets of keys.
Tina Oziewicz’s words hum with truth, and Aleksandra Zajac’s illustrations bloom and burst with charming details like a snail constructed out of a pair of billowing long johns or a red slipper falling from a contented paw.

For this #MelAndNikkiReview, we give this book 5 stars out of 5! A children’s book that really shows what each feeling is about in the most creative way, through metaphorical text and engaging illustrations. It truly will open up the conversations about feelings and how some people express them. Even the feelings that are a bit harder to articulate, it is described beautifully in this story.
We truly recommend this book to everyone. Speaking of feelings is so important especially for children. We all know how hard it is sometimes to express and cope with feelings. This book allows the conversation to happen in the most beautiful way, through a story.
