#MelAndNikkiReview

Hush, Little Dozer is a sweet lullaby of a book that will not only lull little ones to sleep but will also be a treat for any parent or guardian who shares the love of reading with their child. It’s a book that promises to be a beloved addition to any bedtime routine.

Colby’s text is a gentle rhythm of rhymes that mimics the soothing tone of a lullaby, ensuring that the transition from playtime to dreamland is as smooth as the leveled ground by the little dozer. The narrative is cleverly constructed, with each stanza introducing a different construction vehicle winding down from a day’s work, from friendly dump trucks to cheerful loaders, all leading to the star of the book—the little dozer.

Katya Longhi’s illustrations are a feast for the eyes, with a palette that reflects the warm hues of sunset at a construction site. The vehicles are anthropomorphized with smiling faces, adding a touch of whimsy and friendliness to the mechanical giants. The artwork complements the text beautifully, creating a cozy and inviting atmosphere that will surely captivate young readers.

We absolutely adored this board book and what we loved how it shows that after a day filled with hard work and creation, rest is well-deserved and necessary.
