For this #MelAndNikkiReview, we give this book 5 apples out of 5! Beautiful story that featyres gentle humor, vibrant illustrations and best of all the message of empathy, support, learning and sense of a positive classroom community. Nikki has read this book so many times and even took some time to read it to her Grade Three class because you are never too old to know some classroom rules! 🙂

About the Author and Illustrator
KALLIE GEORGE is an author, editor and creative writing teacher. She has written numerous books for early readers, including the first three books in the Anne chapter book series (Anne Arrives, Anne’s Kindred Spirits, Anne’s School Days), The Magical Animal Adoption Agency series, The Heartwood Hotel series and The Wings of Olympus series, as well as numerous picture books, such as Goodnight, Anne, If I Couldn’t Be Anne, Merry Christmas, Anne, The Secret Fawn and The Lost Gift. Kallie currently lives in Vancouver, BC.
JAY FLECK is a designer and illustrator based in Shorewood, IL. He is the illustrator of the picture books Double Take!, Black Belt Bunny and Everything You. His artwork has been featured on products at the GAP, on Threadless and on the front page of Society6.com, as well as a number of other brick-and-mortar and internet stores. Tilly and Tank is the first picture book he has both written and illustrated.
