One Elephant Went Out to Play

One Elephant Went Out to Play will become a classic children’s book just as the song did back in the ’80s. Warms my heart to read a story that brings back wonderful childhood memories to my child. – Momma Braga

Synopsis

From the creators of Skinnamarink comes another picture book based on the classic counting song made famous by this beloved trio of children’s entertainers.

One elephant went out to play upon a spider’s web one day. She had such enormous fun, that she called for her baby elephant to come.

Sharon, Lois and Bram invite readers to join them in a musical story about a magical spider web. Jungle animals and kids in costume join in the fun on the web, including a glamourous giraffe, a cranky crocodile, a silly, smiley snake and five monkeys. After the 10th animal is invited onto the web, EVERYONE is invited to the party – but is the web strong enough?

#MelAndNikkiReview

One Elephant Went Out to Play warmed my heart as soon as I held it in my hands. Memories flooded of my childhood and singing this song with my mom. To have the song transformed into book form and to be able to read (in all honesty I sang) it to my child.

Nikki quickly picked up the tune and everywhere we went, she brought the book with her to read/sing to anyone who wanted to listen.

I loved reading this book because it was so much fun! The ending was the best part but you have to read it to find out what happens. I don’t want to spoil it. – Nikki, Age 8

For this #MelAndNikkiReview, we give this book 5 elephants out of 5! The story flowed in a whimsical way and illustrations were beautifully done. We recommend this book to everyone of all ages especially if you grew up watching The Elephant Show. You will want to watch the shows again but this time with your children by your side.

A true classic to the book world and we are so thrilled to have been able to review it! Even our Frenchie, Tyson, got into the story. He does love a good story that involves animals. 😉

Until next time…Happy Parenting!
