We walked into a world stitched from pixels and dreams, Where the glow of old screens meets the shimmer of new themes.
A place where stories breathe, and characters roam free, Where every booth hums softly with “come play, come see.”Here, joy levels up with every step that we take,
And memories respawn in the moments we make.
Hand in hand, heart to heart, in this universe we choose—
A mother and daughter on a quest we can’t lose. For in halls filled with fandom, creativity thrives,
And the magic of play reminds us we’re alive.
So we enter with wonder, leave with treasures and cheer— Because the best kind of adventure is the one shared right here.

Today, the Toronto Game Expo reminded us why fandom spaces feel like home. From the moment we walked in, the energy was electric — a mix of nostalgia, creativity, and that unmistakable buzz of people celebrating what they love.

Nikki’s Highlights: Anime Heaven & Cosplay Magic
If you ever want to see pure joy, take Nikki to a vendor hall bursting with anime merch. She floated from booth to booth like she had been summoned by the power of kawaii itself.
– Plushies? She hugged them all.
– Posters? She inspected every detail.
– Keychains? She debated which character “felt right.”
And the cosplay community — wow.
From intricate armor builds to soft, cozy onesies, the creativity was next-level. Nikki was starstruck, inspired, and already planning her next cosplay idea on the car ride home.

Melanie’s Highlights: Retro Bliss & Tetris Glory
While Nikki explored the anime universe, I drifted toward the retro gaming zone, where the glow of CRT screens felt like stepping back into my childhood living room.
And yes… I got to play classic Tetris.
The music kicked in, my fingers remembered the rhythm, and suddenly I was 12 again — except slightly rustier.
Still, I proudly reached Level 12, which I’m declaring a win.
Watching the Tetris competition afterward was wild — those players move with Jedi-level precision. It’s mesmerizing to see how a simple game can still captivate generations.

I was also super proud to see our friend, Steve (A.K.A. Ben Fate) from Comedy Portuguese on the mic during the tournament. You can tell he was in his element!
Vendors, Collectibles & Community Vibes
The vendor hall was a treasure hunt of fandom delights:
– Handmade art
– Retro cartridges
– Indie creators
– Rare collectibles
– Cosplay accessories
– Board games and tabletop gems
What stood out most was the sense of community. Everyone was friendly, excited, and eager to share their passions. It felt like a giant, nerdy family reunion.
