Since we have had some pleasant movie experiences recently with my two year old, Nikki, I thought we should see one more on our list this year. So off we went to see the new DreamWorks Animation’s Trolls.
Trolls is an adorable comedy about the search for happiness, and just how far some will go to get it. You are transported into a colorful, wondrous world populated by the overly optimistic Trolls, who have a constant dance in their step and a song on their lips, and the comically pessimistic Bergens, who are only happy when they have trolls in their stomachs.
After the Bergens invade Troll Village, Poppy (voiced by Anna Kendrick), the happiest Troll ever born, and the overly-cautious Branch (voiced by Justin Timberlake) set off on a journey to rescue her friends. Together, this mismatched duo embarks on a rescue mission full of adventure and mishaps – trying to tolerate each other long enough to get the job done.
Trolls is filled with a great soundtrack with five original songs and also has a number of classic hits from the ‘60s through the ‘80s. So it is really hard to stay still in your seats as you can’t help but move to the music throughout the movie. My daughter and her best friend were on their feet for most of the movie as they couldn’t help dance to the great music! It made the movie that more enjoyable!
The best part about movie reviews, is the ability to interpret the movie to what it meant to you and what message you got from it. Everyone perceives and interprets information differently which is what makes us all unique. So here is what we thought of Trolls.
We loved the animation, the music and the storyline. Our favorite song is one that I will share in this review as the message is so important for our children and even for us adults. It is about not letting anything get you down and to keep on trying. Just love it!!!
The storyline on what happiness is so beautifully executed in the most adorable way! The positive messaging in the movie as a parent is my favorite as you cannot have enough of it nowadays. It’s a feel good movie that was so great to watch with my daughter who is very impressionable.

Nikki and I give Trolls five toddler dance moves out of five! We will definitely be adding this one to our collection when it comes out on DVD.
